1. Cookies and similar technologies

Cookies are small text files stored on your device by a website. Similar technologies include browser local storage, scripts and tags. They can remember choices, support website functions or collect information about how a site is used.

This website currently uses local storage for consent preferences. Its Cloudflare hosting and security layer may set a strictly necessary cookie for bot mitigation. The website can also use Google Analytics, but only when analytics has been configured and you have granted analytics consent.

2. How this website uses cookies

The site reads a necessary preference record from your browser's local storage so it can remember and apply your consent choices. Necessary preference storage cannot be switched off through the website control because it is required to remember the choice you make.

Cloudflare may set the strictly necessary __cf_bm cookie to distinguish legitimate traffic from automated requests and protect the hosting service. This security cookie is not controlled by the optional analytics preference.

The private content manager uses strictly necessary, host-only cookies to verify an authorised administrator session and protect its sign-in form against forged requests. These cookies are created only when an administrator opens or signs in to the content manager.

Optional analytics is off by default. Rejecting analytics does not prevent access to the main website content or enquiry forms. The persistent, hashed rate-limit record used to protect forms is held server-side in Cloudflare D1 and is not a cookie or browser-storage item.

3. Cookie categories

The website's preference control uses the following categories.

  • Necessary: the local preference record that remembers and applies your consent choices, together with any Cloudflare security cookie required to protect the hosting service and the administrator-only authentication cookies required to secure the private content manager. These are always active where the relevant feature is used.
  • Analytics: Google Analytics, if configured. It helps us understand website use and loads only after you grant analytics consent.

4. Technologies currently used

The website stores your necessary consent preference in local storage under the key tt-cookie-preferences-v1. It records whether analytics was accepted and remains there until you change your choice or clear the site's storage in your browser.

Cloudflare, the website's hosting and security provider, may set the strictly necessary __cf_bm cookie for bot mitigation. It contains encrypted information used to calculate a bot score, is not used for advertising, and expires after 30 minutes of inactivity.

When an administrator opens the private sign-in page, __Host-tt_admin_login_csrf temporarily protects the form against forged requests and expires after 10 minutes. After a successful sign-in, __Host-tt_admin_session maintains the authorised session for up to 8 hours, subject to a 30-minute inactivity limit. Both are Secure, HttpOnly, SameSite=Strict, host-only cookies and are not used for analytics or advertising.

If a Google Analytics measurement ID is configured and you grant analytics consent, the website loads Google Analytics. Google may then set or access analytics cookies and receive usage information. The exact analytics storage period is governed by the configured Google Analytics settings and Google's applicable controls. Withdrawing consent disables analytics, removes the analytics script from the current page and attempts to remove its first-party cookies.

The website does not currently load marketing or advertising trackers. If the technologies in use change, this policy and the consent control will be updated before any newly optional technology is used where consent is required.

5. Managing preferences

You can accept or reject optional categories in the consent banner and revisit your decision at any time using Cookie settings in the website footer. You can also clear site data through your browser, although doing so removes the saved preference and the website will need to ask again.

Withdrawing analytics consent prevents Google Analytics from loading on later page views. It does not make processing that occurred while valid consent was in place unlawful. Browser controls can also block or delete cookies set previously by an analytics provider.

6. Third-party analytics

Google is the provider of the optional analytics service. If analytics is configured and allowed, Google's own privacy and security terms also apply to its processing. Google may process analytics information outside the United Kingdom using the transfer arrangements applicable to its service.

7. Updates to this policy

We may update this policy when website functionality, providers or storage technologies change. The date above shows when this version was last updated. Please review this page and your saved choices from time to time.
